I submitted an offer on a REO(bank owned) house in Southern California.
The bank counter offered.
I accepted the counter offer and signed the counter offer addendum and emailed back to the bank(listing agent).

Afterwards I drove by the house and saw few interested people looking at the house. I talked to them and they told me that when they called the listing agent, the listing agent told them that they already have multiple offers and they’re free to submit an offer.

With above said, can the bank reject my signed counter offer and go for a better offer?
Escrow has not opened yet.

I sent the counter offer addendum via email early last week.
Actually my buyer’s agent sent it for me via email.

Also when the counter offer was sent to me via email PDF file, I printed it out, signed it and translated to PDF file again and sent it to bank via email.
Professor Kemperk, ..

also the listing agent’s secretary verbally told my buyer’s agent over the phone that they accepted our offer. With this said can the bank still back out of this deal and sell the house to a higher bidder?

We have already signed the escrow papers a week ago, the lender has already made payment 5 days ago and now our real estate agent and escrow is saying they need to FINAL short sale approval from bank of america in order to send it to registar in order to close so we can get our keys!!! The house has been vacant for 3 months so its not like the amount of time for escrow matters. The real estate agent says bank of america has a 72 hour hold before they approve? I have never heard of this? We are already paying mortgage for this place and we cant even get the keys.. does anyone have any advice? we keep getting the close date pushed back farther and farther and we have to be out of our apt in a few days! does anyone know anything that can help us? Thank you
we have approval from bank of america but we are being told that they must approve everything after it goes to escrow again

Location: California. We had an accepted deal from Bank A, who mid escrow sold their portfolio to Bank B. Bank B has been less than cooperative. We have missed the Close of Escrow date as they will not return “Sellers Cost” paper, which my lender needs to fund my loan. Can I pull out my money from the Title Company escrow account if they do not/will not perform and supply the needed form. ?? Bank A’s agent, my title company and my lender have all been trying to leave messages, no one is responding, I feel like I’m in purguratory, my wife wants to walk from the deal, sue everyone….it sucks.
To Lakerman: Bank B is located in Texas, I cannot visit their office, as I’m in California
Also…Bank “A” is currently in bankruptcy.
Problem solved with help of university alumni connection who happaned to work for Bank A…Bank B supplied the sellers HUD first thing this morning, my loan funded and I closed escrow this afternoon.

I understand the bank can take months to accept/counter-bid your offer. But after a price is accepted, is the process expedited in generally the same amount of time of a non-forclosure?
